Maria Wilson, B.A.

Professional Biography

 Maria Wilson is the Research Evaluator for the Advancing Child Competencies by Extending Supported Services (ACCESS) for Families program at Florida International University. It is an NIH-funded randomized controlled trial examining the effect of an internet-delivered behavioral parent training intervention for young children with co-occurring developmental delay and externalizing behavior problems. She conducts assessments at the participants’ homes and evaluates different areas of development, including, but not limited to, language skills, school readiness skills, and parent-child interactions and more recently has extended to delivering remote evaluations. Maria graduated in May 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology from Florida International University. Maria is passionate about the mental health field and aims to further her education by obtaining a doctoral degree in clinical psychology with an emphasis on early childhood. Maria has a strong interest in the treatment of early childhood anxiety, specifically examining the barriers to treatment and services for anxiety in minority and underserved populations and reducing the gap through dissemination and implementation.
