Professional Biography

Ella Diab is a doctoral student in the Clinical Science in Child and Adolescent Psychology program and a graduate research assistant in the Research on Adolescent and Child Health (ReACH) Lab at FIU. She received her Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Neuroscience and Behavior from the University of Notre Dame. She went on to work as a clinical research assistant at Brown University under the Adolescent Mental Health Collaborative and the Center for Sleep and Circadian Rhythms in Adolescent and Child Mental Health. Ella’s clinical experiences include assessing and treating both externalizing and internalizing behaviors in youth. Specifically, she has clinical experience working on an adolescent inpatient psychiatric unit, treating selective mutism and social anxiety in youth through the Brave Bunch program at FIU, and behavioral parent training for children with ADHD. Her research interest primarily centers on the influence of social media on adolescent substance use and co-occurring mental health problems, as well as understanding the underlying pathways that might explain that relationship. She is also interested in examining certain socialization contexts that might exacerbate that relationship.
