Aileen Herrera, M.S., LMHC

Biografía Personal

Aileen Herrera is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and the Clinical Director of the MINT Anxiety Clinic within the Center for Children and Families (CCF) at Florida International University. She is also on the Board of Directors of the Selective Mutism Association. She supervises student trainees and provides weekly and intensive treatment for children and teens with emotional disorders in both English and Spanish. Aileen is certified in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy for Selective Mutism (PCIT-SM). She also directs specialty programs for youth with selective mutism, including FIU’s Brave Bunch Summer Treatment Program.

Se graduó de la Universidad Estatal de Florida en mayo de 2015 Summa Cum Laude y Phi Beta Kappa con una licenciatura en Psicología y una especialización en Desarrollo Infantil. Durante su licenciatura, Aileen trabajó durante dos años como asistente de investigación en la Clínica de Salud del Comportamiento y la Ansiedad de la Universidad Estatal de Florida. Aileen recibió una Maestría en Ciencias en Psicología de Consejería Profesional en Florida International University. Completó su práctica en el Centro para Niños y Familias de FIU, donde se capacitó para brindar tratamiento individual y grupal a niños de 2 a 7 años con problemas de conducta mediante la terapia de interacción entre padres e hijos. También se desempeñó como consejera principal de conducta durante dos años en el Programa de tratamiento de verano de prekínder de FIU para niños pequeños con trastornos de conducta disruptiva. Completó su pasantía clínica con el programa MINT Anxiety, donde brindó tratamiento cognitivo-conductual intensivo, individual y grupal en inglés y español a niños y adolescentes con ansiedad, y se desempeñó como consejera principal del programa Brave Bunch Summer Treatment de FIU.
