Biografía Personal

Kristina Conroy is a fifth-year doctoral candidate in the Clinical Science program at Florida International University (FIU) and a member of the Mental health Interventions and Novel Therapeutics (MINT) Lab. Kristina’s research focuses on reducing youth mental health disparities and broadening the reach of evidence-informed services and supports for child and adolescent internalizing problems. To that end, Kristina collaborates with key stakeholders (e.g., youth, caregivers, teachers) to identify opportunities for infusing mental health supports into schools and other community settings. Further, Kristina’s research seeks to improve the cultural and contextual responsiveness of anxiety practices for low-income and minoritized youth. Overall, Kristina strives to conduct stakeholder-centered, trauma-informed work that strengthens the public health impact of youth mental health research.

Kristina completed her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology at Middlebury College. Following her graduation, she served as a Research Coordinator in the Pediatric Psychopharmacology Program at Massachusetts General Hospital. Prior to her time at FIU, Kristina worked with Dr. Stefan Hofmann as a Research Technician at Boston University’s Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders (BU CARD). Kristina’s time at BU CARD inspired her to study promoting the health and wellness of youth with anxiety, depression, and trauma-related difficulties.
